Lead indicators for Europe’s steel flat products market
CRU Markit Steel PMIs are monthly forward looking indicators of activity in the steel industry, covering North America, Asia and Europe. They are monthly indexes, constructed using survey data from a large sample of purchasing managers in the steel intensive goods manufacturing sector. Specifically, purchasing managers in the following sectors are surveyed: construction materials and machinery, equipment and electrical goods,
and vehicles.
CRU and Markit have also developed regional PMIs for Aluminium and Copper.
